The Hoptimist is ideally located on the main road, opposite Aberystwyth train station, and the main bus station opposite. Previously known as the Lord Beeching, The Hoptimist is one of Aberystwyth’s most vibrant venues.

It is a wet led town centre business, with a massive opportunity to grow the business, from the solid foundation it currently enjoys. Customers range from regular locals, tourism, and the extensive student population of the main Aberystwyth University.

The business, whilst currently a wet led town centre pub, hosting regular weekly events & live music, has the opportunity to implement a small food offering, and potentially a hot drinks offering also, all appealing to the huge captive audience locally.

We are looking for a dynamic, hands on, leader that has the energy to lead a small team.  You will ideally have a background within a vibrant community pub, with the drive and determination to implement business building ideas, as well as control the essentials of the business.

There is a potential for live in for the right applicant. Current percentage commission deal is 20%.

Harleys is situated in the heart of the town centre, just a few minutes walk from the main train and bus stations, and alongside all the other town centre businesses.  

Harleys has been one of the town’s most popular student venues for decades.  Currently a wet led student, late night venue, also having several hotel rooms above the business as an additional revenue stream.

The business currently operates from Tuesday to Saturday evenings from 8pm. It is a fast paced, high volume operation. The ideal candidate would have a background in late night, student led venues, with the capability of engagement with all Student Unions, controlling DJ led entertainment, and the experience of high volume, short time frame income streams, whilst controlling all necessary aspects of the business.

There is a potential for a Live in position. The site has recently undergone some small refurbishment works, to improve the internal aspects of the business.  Current commission deal is 20% on wet sales, and 30% on accommodation sales.
